Kava is an evergreen shrub growing to a height of 10 feet, with fleshy stems and heart shaped leaves. Kava is an indigenous Polynesian vine and grows throughout the Pacific Islands as far east as Hawaii. It is cultivated commercially in the U.S. and Australia.
